We didn't make it. This DeviantArt account is just a gallery to show the art made with the software that we develop : TVPaint Animation.

This animation was made by Mike Koizumi, as a graduation movie. He's now storyboard artist for Blizzard Entertainment :)

@02:34That was inspiring! I've been fooling around with a DSI but it was nice seeing an excellent animation but at this stage. Outrageously skillful work!

this is really impressive.

I've been ignoring the importance of a good animatic in the animating process and this is really eye opening

The animatic is really important, because it allows to know how will be the rythm, if shots and camera angles are good... And it makes the animators work easier (they know the timing and things like that ^^)

So yes, the animatic is really important !

Thanks from Mike koizumi for your comment ^^

@02:34Oooh wooow!! I love how well organized it! All storyboarded keyframe like, was done so well I didn't need it to have those the inbetweens/fancy outlinins/colorins to make it seem smooth! Just wow, very nice!! :) It's nice to see that sketchy stuffs can still flow as great as the nicely finished ones

Yeah, this storyboard was done very well. I'm sad to notice young animators has forgotten how much a good and efficient storyboard is essential to make a good film.
Young animators from the whole world : a storyboard is NOT just one image for one shot !

...

Sorry, I do love storyboard, and sometimes, I lost my temper =P
